DIY Wedding Favor Ideas #1

When attending a wedding, you’ll likely remember lots of little moments from the day, like the vows that made you reach for the tissues. The second piece of cake you couldn’t pass up. The scent of fresh floral bouquets wafting in the air.

The best way to recall the magic of a wedding is to send your guests home with something special…like DIY wedding favors! These ideas are perfect for any type of affair, whether you’re at a chic hall or a rustic barn wedding venue. Instead of opting for something expected like Jordan almonds, why not go the unique route and make a favor that your guests will actually use long after the wedding is over?

Plus, many of these ideas double as DIY wedding centerpiece ideas, so it might save you some prep time.

DIY Mini Honey Jars

Your guests can bring home the sweetest favors around—mini jars of honey! Complete with honey dippers and a cute phrase, everyone is sure to be buzzing about these favors.

SUPPLIES:

  • Silhouette CAMEO 3 or any
  • craft cutting machine
  • Cutting mat
  • Weeding hook
  • Matte White adhesive vinyl
  • Clear vinyl transfer tape
  • Glass jars
  • Twine
  • Honey dipper
  • Honey

Step 1: Download the “Love Sweet Love” SVG file that you will cut out of your adhesive vinyl. Make any desired adjustments to the size or arrangement of the design in Silhouette Studio.

Step 2: Prepare to cut the Adhesive Vinyl by adjusting your blade (the premium blade is my favorite) and adhering the Adhesive Vinyl to the mat with the vinyl facing up. Load your mat into the machine and click the Send button.

Step 3: After your machine has finished cutting, remove the Adhesive Vinyl, and weed the excess. Use the hook to remove any small pieces.

Step 4: Cut a piece of transfer tape to fit the design. Apply the tape, and use a scraper (a credit card works, too!) to ensure the vinyl sticks to the tape.

Step 5: Remove the vinyl from the carrier sheet by peeling the tape back. Apply the decal to the jar.

Step 6: Rub the decal with your squeegee to make sure it sticks well to the jar. Then, carefully peel off the tape.

Step 7: Fill the jar with honey.

Step 8: Use twine to attach a honey dipper to each jar.
